Amid the torrent of challenges, BSNL has come up with a bouquet of innovations in fixed broadband- including Wi-Fi hotspots in rural phone exchanges. The state-owned telco announced attractive tariff schemes and enhanced network plans to retain its customer base, while offering free installations to attract new customers. Despite the tough competition, BSNL managed to increase its customer base in the first quarter of the current fiscal.
Atria Convergence Technologies
With over 1.2 million subscribers in India, Atria Convergence Technologies (ACT) Fibernet has emerged as the third largest service provider in fixed broadband. Over the past few months, ACT has been investing hugely in cities across India. As part of its Rs 100 crore project in Delhi and NCR, the company recently launched 150Mbps broadband service in national capital. It has also embarked on several Wi-Fi projects across the country through its Citi Wi-Fi Project. It is promising better speed to enhance customer experience.
