Idea Cellular could withstand the competition and posted revenue decline of 0.8 percent to INR 358,827 million in FY 2017. Idea Cellular could maintain its revenue share at 18.9 percent thanks to investment for the expansion of mobile Internet coverage.
In order to promote mobile Internet, Idea Cellular managed campaigns such as Biggest Small Change, Get India Online, Biggest Small Change, Reverse Migration campaigns. Idea has introduced data pack offering 1GB / day for postpaid 4G handset users.
Idea Cellular’s spectrum focus will enable the company to carry 15-20 times of its current mobile data traffic. Idea Cellular, under the leadership of CEO Himanshu Kapania, will be using its own spectrum for offering 3G services in 15 circles and 4G in 20 circles.
